Our Story
Vincenzo, the future founder of Warex, had been thinking about setting up a company for years! Based on his many years of experience in the plant engineering sector, and realising the great limitations of the industrial model, he wanted to lay the foundations for a company whose aim was to protect the environment.
But after careful consideration he realised the enormous difficulties that an honest entrepreneur would have to face, especially in such an innovative field for those times.
With much regret, he put his business idea back in the drawer…
An Experience Gained On Site
In 1973, however, fate knocked at the door: his brother Giovanni, who was just 20 years old, promised that as soon as he graduated he would enthusiastically join the project.
It was at that point that Vincenzo “reopened that drawer” and founded Warex!
The first few years, despite his strong commitment, were very difficult: the municipalities and industries did not accept the new costs imposed by Law 319 of 1976 on waste disposal. In addition, there were no government funds and public opinion was not yet sensitive to environmental issues. The water treatment industry therefore did not take off and Warex was in serious difficulty.
With Warex For A Green-Economy Transition
1984 finally marked a turning point: Warex obtained registration in the then National Register of Builders (now the SOA), allowing it to participate directly in the tenders that were beginning to be issued in the industry. In the same year, Warex decided to enter the field of renewable energy, becoming a pioneer in the innovative and promising technology of photovoltaics. Finally, Vincenzo and Giovanni appoint a new, young head of finance: Donatina Nardi.
In the meantime, Europe warned Italy for the lack of attention it was paying to the preservation the territory.
Public funds were eventually provided and with them the sector’s tenders, in which Warex participated actively and successfully. Revenue grows and so does the company.

Today we can say we are proud of ourselves: the ownership and management have remained unchanged over the years, thus guaranteeing strategic continuity and financial soundness.
Thanks to its dynamism and expertise, Warex is now able to operate throughout Italy and beyond: we have launched projects in Ecuador, Morocco, Jordan, Algeria and the Ivory Coast…
In the awareness that the environmental aspect is now essential for sustainable development, Warex, with its wealth of experience and know-how, represents a great reality and a strategic partner that adds competenceand values, with a view to constant growth and learning.
We’ve come a long way since that far-off 1973…and there is still so much more to do.
